| Sunday Services: 10AM |
The Sunday morning service at Sangha is truly a richly textured Celebration of Life with its most prominent qualities manifesting Joy, Aliveness, Beauty, Love, Wisdom, and Clarity. Each Sunday service revolves around a particular theme which is carried forth in the morning talk, the performances of the guest artists, HeartSong, or the Sangha Youth Chorus and Band, the congregational songs, the interactive reading adapted from the book-of-the-month, and the centering meditation by a practitioner. Guest artists are powerfully on-target with lyrics that inspire and deepen our understanding of the principles of Science of Mind in jazzy, bluesy, gutsy, rockin’ modes that get the congregation involved and thinking at the same time.
Rev. David’s talks are delivered in a candid, honest, soul-searching, plain-spoken, profound, humorous, informal, and sometimes challenging manner—getting us to ponder and question our beliefs, habits, behavior, and practical application of the Universal principles of the spiritual wisdom tradition of which we are a contemporary pathway. His talks are punctuated throughout the morning by excerpts from prominent authors being read aloud by various members of the congregation, bringing a sense of participation, inclusion, and unique personality to the service. The Spiritual Mind Treatment at the end of Rev. David’s talk is participatory with the congregation repeating each phrase of the inspiring words that encapsulate the profound concepts from the service.
At the end of the service, the members of the Youth Church come up the aisle from the back of the sanctuary to the music of “It’s a Small World” or other tunes as we welcome them with cheering and rowdy applause. The elementary, preteens, teens, and sometimes even the preschoolers, then share from the platform what they learned that morning in their individual youth groups. Once a month we have a special day of Sacred Service by the Teens when they serve in the sanctuary as ushers, greeters, moderators, musicians, and announcers!
The strong sense of community and togetherness that is felt during the service itself is perpetuated by the many Fellowship events that continue following the service, such as potlucks, volunteer nation luncheons, hospitality hour in the Gathering Place with coffee, tea, and bagels, Easter & Passover meals, visioning sessions, Family Life-Shop feasts and classes, among many others.
The two words that best convey the sense of a Sunday Service at Sangha are “Celebration” and “Community.”
We honor all spiritual paths and welcome all to this Sangha, this spiritual community! |

| The continual growth in the number of children and youth here at our Sangha Youth and Family program is outpaced only by the joy in their parents’ hearts as they enjoy the way their children are learning how to love the Spirit of the qualities of God in all people. Our youth chorus and band, Sunday School classes, field trips, and winter & summer camps all provide opportunities for the principles taught here at Sangha to be “on-the-job-training” for self-esteem, personal responsibility, and the power to develop healthy relationships for youth from all walks of life, religious beliefs, and backgrounds. more... |

Meets in the Sanctuary on Love Offering Basis
Wednesday Evenings at Sangha offer a medley of meditative services, presentations, workshops, films, book studies, and classes. The one feature shared by this rather wide variety of formats is meditation—either as sustained silence, guided visualization, insight questing, contemplation, spiritual mind treatment, or sacred prayers from various wisdom traditions. The mood of the Wednesday evening service is usually more quiet and gentle than that of the Sunday Morning Celebration. Candles glow in the dimly lit sanctuary as people arrive while soft instrumental music fills the hushed atmosphere of the room. Gradually, as the opening meditation draws to a close, the sanctuary lights are brightened and the focus of the evening begins.
The scope of formats over the past year has ranged from “Inner-Views” with congregants on the topics of relationships and prosperity; a documentary film on romantic relationships, Song of Solomon; a guided visualization on abundance from the Tibetan Buddhist repertoire; an evening of drumming or singing bowls; a viewing of the film, The Secret; a book study of a classic prosperity text by one of the authors mentioned in that film—Wallace Wattles on The Science of Getting Rich; a series of workshops on “Spiritual Fitness”; a class on the silent mode of nonverbal prayer based on the work of Gregg Braden, Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer; an evening of sacred readings and meditation with congregants from varying interfaith backgrounds articulating prayers from their own culture; a series of presentations on prosperity issues by guest speakers from a variety of fields, such as real estate, education, feng shui consulting, and retreat centers; an exploration of the classic text of Taoism, The Tao Te Ching, from the perspective of Western Science of Mind; a book study on Success: Full Thinking by a Franciscan Friar, Justin Belitz, offering his contemporary perspective on The One Mind from the point of view of a Roman Catholic priest . . .
Peppered throughout these offerings are practical experiential exercises, guided inner work, meditation, sharing, readings, and lecture-discussion. The size of the group is usually smaller than Sunday morning, ranging from 10 – 50 on any given evening. The style is casual and personal. If variety is for you, you’ll love Wednesday Evenings at Sangha! |
